FFF LIVE ART 2026

Throughout the weekend, festival-goers of all ages will help bring a giant collaborative mural to life featuring elements of FFF 2026

Designed by Fernie artist and arts educator Liza Gareau Tosh, of French-Canadian and Métis ancestry, this interactive 4’ x 8’ artwork uses a simple paint-by-number format, allowing anyone to jump in, pick up a brush, and contribute to the final piece.

Participants will also be invited to sign the back of the mural in the same colour they used, creating a lasting record of everyone who helped create it.

Smaller take-home versions of the mural design will also be available for kids to colour and customize as their own Fun Field souvenir.

FFF has a storage trailer which was lookin pretty boring so we asked Erich to help! He's going to turn it into art over the weekend!

Erich is a local muralist/artisan who is lucky to call the Elk Valley home! He is a multidisciplinary artist, opting to use aerosol paint as his primary medium, while also including acrylic paint, wood working and resin pouring into his projects - creating a unique street style of art that brings color and vibrancy to its surroundings.

Erich was born and raised in Calgary, cultivating his aerosol techniques on the streets of YYC.  His love for the mountains, brought him to the Fernie area, where he is thrilled to be a part of the vibrant community of local artists.

Hula hoop workshop with Bekka. Whether you have experience or not this workshop will have you feeling confident in those hoop tricks new and or old. The whole workshop is dedicated to having folks feel empowered , inspired and help find a fun flow for each person. —— There will be a handful of hoops for use at the class but highly recommend folks bringing one if they have any.

Bek will also be performing between bands on the main stage so keep an eye out!

We are very excited to have The Elk Valley Gymnastics Club join us at FFF 2026! Look out for them in the parade at noon and also in performances by the stage in between bands on Saturday.

Doing a special fire/glow poi performance will be their coach Moa Linde on the main stage at 10.45PM on Saturday!!

Brina Schenk the amazing local artist who created the artists impression of Gary the Grasshopper that features on FFF Merchandise will be in the field at FFF 2026. Brina will be creating a live crowd portrait of the FFF festival goers! Come by Brina's tent and sit for 5min to be included in the crown portrait. Leave your email address and get a copy of the portrait when it's doen as an FFF 2026 Souvenir!

Local Fernie artist Marie-Line Gagné will be creating live sand sculptures throughout the weekend, transforming piles of sand into detailed temporary artworks right in the middle of the festival grounds.

Part performance, part sculpture, this evolving installation gives festival-goers the chance to watch the creative process unfold in real time as the pieces slowly take shape across the weekend.

Nearby, kids will also have a chance to jump in and try some sand art fun of their own with a hands-on interactive area designed for playful creativity.

Local Fernie performance artist Moa Linde has been curating specialized performances in The Elk Valley for over 5 years. From aerial based performance art to being one of the coaches at The Elk Valley Gymnastics Club, Moa has skills across many artistic disciplines. We are very excited to have her performing fire poi & fire fans alongside our last music act on Saturday night Chimp It. Come dance and see the night light up! (in the event of a fire ban, glow poi will be used)
